My Story

Hi! I’m Char, a stay at home mom, farm wife and Author of The Shadow Realm Banshee Series. I publish under the pen name CE Guard and writing this bio is seriously harder than writing a full novel. You see, I live a pretty busy but quiet life. Unlike my characters, I don’t go on epic adventures and face the darkest evils in the world. I’m a homebody by nature and I love the peaceful bubble I have made for myself. Its the perfect spot to crack open my laptop and let my wild imagination fly. But, while I love my life, I worry that in comparison, it will seem rather uneventful to my readers, after all, when reading something from me, they are used to copious amounts of drama and unexpected twists!

My amazing husband and I have been married for… a hot minute, and have two kids together. We live a delightfully quiet life on a farm and I’m hoping one day to convince him to get ducks (I desperately want to tell him I’ve finally got my ducks in a row)! Between reading in our gazebo and going for long walks down winding country roads, life is pretty good, just not very interesting if you’re into witchcraft, vampires and werewolves… which hopefully you are because you can find all of those things inside of my books!

If you’re still with me… Thank you! I’m honestly surprised you read this far but since you’re here, lets talk about some of my favorite things! I’m what one might call a hobby enthusiast. I adore things… many of them and this has led me to having several hobbies including Writing (duh), cooking, journaling, planners, washi tape/stickers, gardening, tarot, reading, and playing out-of-date video games (In particular the N64 and Nintendo DS). My favorite color is black (Cue the eye rolls… yes its a color) and I adore deserts (Cheesecake is my love language)!

I began writing when I was pretty young and after some encouragement from the adults in my life, I started my very first book (No its not published and probably never will be in its current form but who knows). I spent years messing around, writing dozens of partial stories before finding “The Right One”. That book set me on a crazy path and I published the first three books in that series in less than a year! I have so many more stories to tell and I look forward to publishing the rest of The Shadow Realm Banshee series as well as many others in the future. I hope you’ll hop onto this crazy train with me and give my books a chance!
